Présenté en 2017 au Festival Quartiers Danses, cette création est une réflexion sur le combat de tous les instants d'un artiste quant à sa place dans la société et sur la scène artistique. Dans cette oeuvre solo, Pauline Gervais affronte ses peurs qui , telle une créature, vivent dans son gouffre intérieure. Cette créature, qui se nourrit perpétuellement de ses émotions, de ses dualités et de sa chair, prend un malin plaisir à briser son jardin d'illusion et de rêves. Paradoxalement , cette bête a sa raison d'exister: elle pousse l'artiste à dépasser ses limites.

Presented in 2017 in the Festival Quartiers Danses, this creation offers a reflexion on the artist's continuous struggle to find their place in society and on the artistic scene. In this solo , Pauline Gervais confronts the fears that, like a creature,live deep within her. This creature, who perpetually feeds on her emotions, dualities and flesh, takes great pleasure in destroying her garden of illusions and dreams. Paradoxically, this animal has its reasons for existing: it pushes the artist to surpass her limitations.

Inspiré par l'appropriation de Lou Reed du poème The Raven d'Edgar Allan Poe, la pièce dépeint un jeune homme qui est hanté par le souvenir de son amante Lénore, avec qui il a connu la descente aux enfers en sombrant dans les pièges de la toxicomanie. Lorsque le corbeau entre dans sa chambre, sa folie grandissante finit par l'achever.
Inspired by Lou Reed's appropriation of Edgar Allan Poe's poem The Raven, the piece turns around a young man who's haunted by the memory of his lover Lenore, with whom he went through the descent to hell by falling into the traps of toxicomania. When The Raven enters in his room , his growing madness leads him to his end.
Basée sur le roman La Nuit des temps de René Barjavel, Dvala est le témoignage d’un couple provenant d’une société antérieure et utopique qui émerge d’un état d’hibernation. À travers une gestuelle désarticulée et poétique, Dvala vous plonge dans un univers où l’amour, la vie, la mémoire et la mort se côtoient.

Inspired by René Barjavel's novel The Ice People, Dvala is the testimony of a couple coming from an anterior and utopia society who's emerging from their hibernation state. Through a dislocated and poetic gesture, Dvala will move you to a universe where love, life, memory and death walk side by side.

ABOUT
Pauline Gervais intègre le programme professionnel de l'École supérieure de ballet du Québec en 2004 et le complète en mai 2017. Durant sa formation, elle a eu la chance de travailler avec divers chorégraphes , tels que Robert Glumbek, Gioconda Barbuto et Shawn Hounsell.
Passionnée par la chorégraphie, Pauline Gervais développe sa gestuelle chorégraphique en adaptant en mouvement des romans tels que La nuit des temps de Réné Barjavel et Le portrait de Dorian Gray d'Oscar Wilde. Elle interprète sa première oeuvre solo Kreatur sur la scène du Festival Quartiers Danses en 2017 et remporte le prix "Découvert sur scène"

Elle participe également à des projets pour la société de production vidéo Roméo et Fils ainsi que Mexico, tels que Ma voiture volante de Claude Bégin, Maxyme de Caravane et Drama d'Obey The Brave ,en tant qu'interprète et chorégraphe.
Pauline Gervais began the professional program at Quebec's École supérieure de ballet in 2004, completing it in May 2017. During her training, she had the opportunity to work with various choreographers, including Robert Glumbek, Gioconda Barbuda and Shawn Hounsell.
Passionate about choreography, Pauline Gervais develops her choreographic interpretation of gesture by adapting into novels such as The Ice People by René Barjavel and Oscar Wilde's The portrait of Dorian Gray. She performs her first solo piece on the Festival Quartiers Danses stage in 2017 and receives the award" Discovery on stage".
She also participated in projects for the video production company Roméo et Fils and Mexico, including Ma voiture volante de Claude Bégin, Maxyme by Caravane and Drama by Obey The Brave , as a dancer and choreographer.
